Eight year old wins 3 million from Trust following severe brain injury
- St Georges Trust agrees to pay 3 million to youngster
An eight year old boy was left severely injured following a breach of duty by hospital carers and physicians. St Georges NHS Trust admitted liability and agreed to pay substantial damages following their medical negligence.
The child went into hospital because he was suffering with breathing difficulties but he had a cardiac arrest which was allegedly mismanaged by staff.
The incident which happened in 2000 was subject to a prolonged court case but the Trust admitted negligence and apologised to the child and family for the breach of duty that occurred.
