Legal Expense Insurance - medical negligence claims
Legal cover through Home, credit card insurance (or other) policy.
If you have this type of insurance it can provide you with cover in respect of your opponents legal costs and any expenses you may yourself incur.
Your own solicitors costs will be covered (so long as an indemnity has been granted to you which will allow your solicitor to pursue an action)
You may not be aware that you have this cover because very often it is attached to other polices such as a Home Insurance policy. Some credit cards even have this cover as an additional benefit.
Usually the cover will be described as "Legal protection" or "Family legal cover" and will have a limit of £50,000 for legal costs.
Some insurers will not cover actions of medical negligence but most will do and we will always check this out on your behalf when we explore the funding options early on in the claim.
